Bob Benson's Woodcarvings

Mr. Bob Benson, a noted woodcarver, has frequently travelled in my van heading to Big Sandy to catch a freight train. Mr. Benson is pictured here in the Big Sandy shanty just prior to boarding a train on July 27, 1999. He is a railroad conductor who has bumped elbows with the rich and famous.

In the photos below, you will find Mr. Benson with celebrities such as Pam and Mel Tillis, Neal McCoy, and others as well as closeup examples of his work.

The figure above is an Aggie Santa carrying a log. The figure was created in honor of the Texas A&M students who lost their lives in the bonfire tragedy in 1999. Click on the image for an enlarged version.

Mr. Benson has created a Presidential rocker (photo at left) which he presidented to President George Bush. The links below are closeup views of this excellent work of art.
